Vicar (Planting Pastor)

Matt serves as the planting pastor of Cornerstone. Originally from Charlotte, he attended UNC-Chapel Hill where he was deeply formed by the local church (Holy Trinity Anglican, Raleigh) and campus ministry (Greek Life, through Cru).

Matt attended seminary at Duke Divinity School, is an ordained priest in the Anglican Church in North America, and has served as an assisting clergy member at both Holy Trinity Raleigh and Church of the Apostles, Raleigh.

Prior to Cornerstone, he served on staff at the North Carolina Study Center at UNC for eight years as Director of Education and Chief Operating Officer.

Matt is married to MaryMac and together, they have two young children—Kit and Shep.

Ministry Resident

Jacob serves as Ministry Resident at Cornerstone. In this role, he helps to lead youth, college, and young adult ministry, while also apprenticing in a number of other areas of parish ministry.

Jacob grew up in Asheville, NC before moving to Raleigh, NC where he attended NC State University and earned his degree in Civil Engineering. During his time at NC State, he was involved in Young Life as a leader and basketball coach at Apex High School. After graduating, Jacob enrolled in the Raleigh Fellows Program through Church of the Apostles in Raleigh, where he worshiped and served for 5 years (2021-2026).

Jacob has recently transitioned from working as a Civil Engineer to full-time vocational ministry. He is currently a student at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary with aspirations to obtain his Masters in Theological Studies in the coming years, while working at Cornerstone. 

Worship Arts Coordinator

Audra serves as Worship Arts Coordinator at Cornerstone. Her passion is to steward worship and artistic expression that is reverent, jubilant, and authentic.

Raised in Birmingham, AL, Audra began leading worship with a local house of prayer movement during high school. She has since served in various churches and ministries in the US and the UK for the past 15 years. Most recently, she directed worship at Kings Church Stowmarket in the UK. She is a creative at heart – a singer-songwriter, artist, and service designer.

Audra is married to Eli, who is also a musician. They recently moved to Durham and are excited to build community in the area.

Systems Coordinator

Tom serves as Systems Coordinator for Cornerstone. In this role, he coordinates Sunday morning operations and ministry teams and serves as the lead liaision to ministry partners.

Tom is originally from Omaha, NE and had a long career at Verizon as a Human Resources professional before retiring in 2018. He now enjoys travel, landscaping and working with Odyssey of the Mind, a creative problem solving program for K-12 students.

Tom is married to Nikki and they have three married children and two grandchildren in Colorado.

Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Maren serves as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Cornerstone, stewarding care and spiritual formation for children ages 0-5. Maren’s early faith was shaped by her family and church community. She is now joyous to kindle the love and knowledge of God in the hearts of children and families at Cornerstone.

Maren grew up in Gastonia, NC and attended the University of South Carolina where she studied Public Health. She has worked in global health research and is now working towards becoming a nurse.

Maren and her husband Jonathan have settled in Durham, NC and are looking forward to laying down roots in this community.
